INTRODUCTION:
The CSI Diocese of Tirunelveli which came into picture in the late 18th century through the gospel seeds of untold number of Missionaries, does have its yield in 1166 villages spread across the twin cities of Tirunelveli and Palayamkottai and is having 247,000 members in its flock…
Also it has spread its wings to the States near and far like Maharashtra, AP, etc… and countries like Srilanka, Dubai, etc. The hallmark of the Diocese has been the provision of health to the spirit, soul & body of the desperate & downtrodden through innumerable services being rendered under its banner.
In the following are the medical institutions rendering seivices to the poor and needy respective of race and religion in South Tamilnadu.
- CSI Jeyaraj Annapackiam Mission Hospital, Palayamkottai.
- CSI Bell Pins Indrani Chelladurai Mission Hospital, Palayamkottai.
- St. Immanuel Hospital, Idaiyankudi.
- Barenbruck Mission Hospital, Bangala Surandai

- St. Luke’s Hospital, Maruthakulam.
- CSI Rhenius Community Health Development Project, Melapalayam.
Thousands of people are being treated as Out patients and hundreds of people are getting inpatient care every month.
Day by day institutions are developing with introduction of new equipment and facilities for better care of the patients seeking their health in this institutions.
But still there is a cap in providing expected health care ratio 1:20000. Moreover specialized care is not available at affordable cost and no medical research centre is available to address the issues of newly emerging endemics and the above felt need the CSI Bishop of Tirunelvlei Rt.Rev.Dr.J.J.Christdoss inspired by God. prayerfully announced the orgin a new institution called Christian Institution of Medical Sciences and Research Centre (CIMS).

Rendering holistic care to the needy in equality irrespectrive of their status in the society and creating contusive environment to lead a holistic health life by all.
MISSION :
Identifying potential people from the communities empower them with knowledge by creating linkages humanity in need according their affordability and release them from sickness and lead them into a holistic healthy life.
MOTO :
SEEK… SERVE… SAVE…
CIMS… will be situated at our mission compound at Tuckerammalpuram in a span of 50 acres in the national Highway Tirunelveli to Kanyakumari (NH-7).
CIMS … will have 500 beded hospital with comprising of specialization and super specialization.
- A Medical College with the capacity for 150 students.
- A Research Institution with modern facilities.
- Other supportive Paramedical Institutions.
To achieve the above vision of God we need at least Rs.600 cores which is a very huge amount for us to think but not to our Lord Jesus Christ.
But… How God is into provide this? Only through children of God like you who are blessed by Him to be a blessing to others. Now what is your response for this ?
