About the Pastorate
The congregation at Perpilankulam is an old congregation. The exact origin of the congregation is not clear. But Rev. Vedamanikkam Santhosham has worked here till 1871 when he slept in the Lord. Perpilankulam Pastorate came into being in 1947. Till then these congregations were part of the Dohnavur Circle. It is believed that Mary Sargent Girl’s Higher Secondary School at Palaymkottai had its origin in Perpilankulam.
The three congregations in the Pastorate are:
- Perpilankulam
- Sundavilai Nazareth
- Thalavaipuram
Perpilankulam Festival takes place in the second week of May and the Thanksgiving Festival in July – August. Asanam is held in the congregations to the following schedule:
- Perpilankulam – Saturday prior to Palm Sunday
- Sundavilai Nazareth – 3rd Saturday in August
- Thalavaipuram – During Holy Week.
